Cara Hammond is a 20 year old artist originally from North Wales but now based in Leeds. She has been writing songs since she was 11 years old and performing more than 100 gigs so far!
Cara has supported Charlotte Church twice at Llangollen Fringe Festival and then at Focus Wales, performed for the Sofar Sounds sessions, performed in a variety of venues around the UK such as the Underbelly, the Spice of Life, London and the Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen, Leeds. She recently performed for the BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire showcase at the Brudenell Social Club, Leeds on 18th January 2017 and just headlined at the 360 Club, Leeds on 24th March 2017. She has performed and gained airplay on BBC Radio Leeds, BBC Introducing Wales, BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire, the national Mark Forrest BBC radio show, and was ‘BBC Introducing Artist of the Week’ on the national radio show BBC Georgey Tonight from 6th February 2017, with an invitation to perform a live session on the 9th February 2017.
Cara has also been invited to two international songwriting camps, one in Rotterdam, Netherlands, writing for publishers such as BMG and Sony ATV, and one in Copenhagen for the independent label GL Music. Songs written at these camps are now being pitched to labels, publishers and artists both in the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Cara has signed to license her EP in Scandinavia, through GL Music, who was impressed with her success at their song writing camp. To date, she has released three EP’s and is looking forward to releasing a single as well as another EP later this year.
